In the very heart of the Loire Valley you can find "Gîtes de Chanzé" a mid-range holiday Bed & Breakfast complex.
Meticulously restored in renaissance style, the Château Chanzé has stood on the banks of the River Layon, a tributary of the Loire, since the 11th century. A significant night in the Château's history was when King Henry IV slept here in 1576 on a journey south. The farmhouse that formerly served the Chateau has been completely and lovingly restored as to retain its original rustic character. The 4 holiday cottages (gîtes), 4 suites and 1 double B&B present themselves as elegant and comfortable with their parquet and stone floors as well as exposed wooden beams. A rich breakfast buffet is served on either the terrace next to the heated outdoor pool or in the communal Dining Hall. Enjoy "wellness" treatment, such as infra-red sauna, a jacuzzi and massage showers. All our gîtes and suites are individually decorated and furnished, spacious and well equipped with modern comforts, which include under floor heating, air conditioning, satellite television, phone.
