The Castle has its origins back in the 11th Century as found by the large watch tower next to the co
cottage and there is evidence that the property played its part in the Cathars religious wars in the early 12th Century.
The grounds surrounding the property are mainly laid to lawns with original walled and vegetable garden areas as well as a ‘lavoir’ and a ‘source’. Our cottage (Gîte) is suitable for 2-12 persons and has its original medieval features including dressed stone walls, oak beams, tiled floors. The gite has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 sitting rooms and a large kitchen with terrace with stunning views
It’s also possible to rent the whole castle with the Cottage / Farmhouse so you will be able to stay with 21 persons. The castle has 5-6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 2 function halls, large kitchen and a beautiful courtyard. You can use it for a family weekend or for seminars. Together we can discuss the possibilities Labistoul can offer. You will find comfort and personal attention.
A large lake of 3500m² offers recreational fishing
From the main entrance one enters the property via the 14th Century tower up a stone staircase to a hallway, off which is one of the main salon’s and a cloakroom. “Wonderful 11th Century Chateau with modern day comforts”
The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome with advice on where to visit and eat etc Our room was superb with this Old Chateau attraction with all the modern day comforts. It was a privilege to be able to enjoy our short stay at the Chateau. Thanks Margot!
Secluded spot in the middle of countryside, beautiful house and grounds lovingly restored and decorated. Close enough to the town for convenience but blissfully quiet. Lovely touches in the rooms and very pleasant hosts.
We really liked the stairs in the tower leading to the house. We loved the location. The host and hostess were lovely and the breakfast was fabulous. Our family bedroom and bathroom under the roof was full of charm and the children enjoyed the pool.
