Château Cardou is set in a magnificent position in the middle of its 125 acre estate, commanding the Valley d'Or (the Golden Valley)! It is the perfect size for a memorable holiday with family and friends.
Cardou dominates its own land and enjoys wonderful views across and up its valley (just South of the river Lot) and for a distance of over 20 km. to the hilltop Bastide town of Monflanquin. It is approached up a long private drive, through a new plantation of mixed firs and hardwood trees and surrounded by beautiful mature Chestnuts, specimen firs, Cherry and Ash.
Three bedroom suites are on the ground floor, which makes it a very comfortable house to live in, with cellars under and a huge insulated attic above thus able to expand or contract according to numbers. Both the cellar and the top floor can be completely closed off in Winter, when there is full oil fired Central Heating.
There are three main bedrooms on the ground floor each with en-suite bath or shower rooms; off these bedrooms are 3 dressing rooms which can be used as children's bedrooms. Downstairs there is a fourth bedroom and shower room.
From the Dining Hall, the stairs lead to the top floor where there are two delightful tower rooms each with an adjacent bathroom, these rooms have magnificent views up and down the valley to the East and West. Then there is a huge attic playroom with a lofty ceiling, supported by lovely oak beams, off which are 3 further small twin bedded rooms.
The fully fitted kitchen has two ovens, microwave, American fridge, dishwasher, china and glass, and a full array of pots and pans.
The Dining Hall has a massive stone chimney breast, in which you can have a roaring log fire, and a refectory table which seats up to 16. A stereo music centre and a 5ft grand piano are provided for entertainment.
The Drawing Room has a small open fire, television and video player.
The château is built over a vast cellar in which there is a laundry room, with automatic washing machine, boiler room and lower entrance hall with table tennis.
The private swimming pool lies between large barns which provide a courtyard feel and a sun trap. The poolside terrace includes a stone table and barbecue. The Tennis Court is close by, just up the hill.
