Craigrownie Castle is a classic Scots baronial castle built in 1852 by the world renowned architect Alexander `Greek' Thomson. Recently renovated to its former glory, the castle has stunning views of the majestic waters of Loch Long and the Firth of Clyde, with the hills of the Cowal peninsula and the mountains of Argyll serving as a wonderful backdrop. It is situated in large private grounds of park and woodland in Cove, a village on the southern end of the Rosneath peninsula. This area is well known for its outdoor activities in particular sailing, windsurfing and canoeing.
You can become part of this historic legacy by booking in at the Castle for a luxurious and relaxing stay. We offer a range of tourist, leisure, hospitality and event facilities from 2-4 night short breaks or weekly stays in our self catering wing, to venues for wedding receptions and other functions. We also cater to the corporate market, offering facilities for conferences, courses and weekend away day residential events. Craigrownie Castle is the perfect spot from which to explore Argyll and the surrounding area. Loch Lomond is only 25 minutes away and the City of Glasgow, with its international airport is an easy 45 minute drive.
Craigrownie Castle is open and available for bookings all-year round. Both facilities located on the property, the Stanley Apartment for self-catering and the Main Castle for Functions and Events can be booked either separately or together. If extra space is required for a function or event, the Stanley Apartment can be booked in as part of the package but reserved on a full-service basis along with the rest of the castle.
