:An attractive, early Georgian country house in a magnificent setting overlooking the Kenmare Estuary off the southern tip of the beautiful "Ring of Kerry" - generally considered to be the most scenic drive in Ireland.
The house sleeps ten comfortably - two doubles, two twins, two adjoining single bedrooms and five bath/shower rooms. Accommodation for a further eleven is available in 'The Stables' or for a further 5 in 'Garden Cottage'. Westcove is an ideal venue for family reunions, art or golf groups, small weddings and celebrations of all kinds. Various delicious in-house catering options are available. The elegant dining room in Westcove House comfortably seats 18 - 26 maximum - and we can now seat up to 55 in our attractive Games/Function room. For larger numbers, a marquee for up to 120 can be erected on the spacious lawn in front of The Stables.
The terrace to the front of the house is stone-clad and overlooks the harbour and Kenmare Estuary. It has a built-in barbecue and comfortable garden furniture. A rowing boat is available at tenant's own risk.
A Games/Function Room and Studio, located in The Stables building but approachable from the outside, and a Sauna area with exercise space, shower and loo - are facilities shared by all the properties
The huge Games/Function Room is very well equipped with table tennis, table football, darts and other games which can be cleared away to allow up to 55 guests to be seated for a formal dinner. It also converts well into a small meeting/party room. Irish live music/dancing evenings can be arranged for special celebrations - very popular with all ages! Adjoining is a large, well lit, north facing studio with a small snooker/pool table which can be folded away when space is needed by art groups. Westcove House also has Wi-Fi internet access.

Daily cleaning, gas and electricity is included in the rental, but cooking, food shopping and extra housekeeping will be tailored to individual requirements. We will provide options on request and will be happy to discuss these with our guests. An estimate of likely costs will be given but a detailed invoice for catering etc will be payable on departure.

BY AIR: The nearest airport is Kerry, 20 minutes north of Killarney and 1½ hours drive
from Westcove House. Ryanair fly there from Luton and daily from Stansted. Many
airlines fly to Cork, about 2¼ hours away: from London (Heathrow and Gatwick), other
UK airports and Europe. Shannon Airport is a good 3¼ hours drive away.
BY SEA: Unfortunately there is no longer a direct crossing from the UK to Cork. Listed
below are the available options for sea travel:-
Stena line ( offer 2 daily, 3 1/2 hour crossings and - summer only
- 2 daily, 1 3/4 hour, high-speed return sailings from Fishguard to Rosslare. They also
run crossings from Holyhead to Dublin and to Dun Loaghaire. Irish Ferries
( operate twice daily crossings from Pembroke to Rosslare - this
takes 4 hours, but the driving time from London is 1/2 an hour shorter than to Fishguard
and the cabins are much more comfortable!. In addition, they sail regularly from Holyhead
to Dublin. Brittany Ferries ( operate a weekly 13-15
hour crossing from Roscoff, in northern France, to Cork.
BY CAR: The drive to Westcove House takes 2¼ hours from Cork, 4½ to 5½ hours from
Rosslare harbour, 4½ hours from Dublin and 3½ hours from Shannon airport.
Directions from Cork : Follow the N22 Killarney/Tralee Road until about 10 miles short
of Killarney, where you turn left to Kenmare. In Kenmare (a good place to stop for
provisions is Supervalu Supermarket), follow the signs to Sneem and Waterville.
Ten miles after going through Sneem, you reach the small village of Castlecove. Continue
towards Waterville for about one mile, then, after passing some derelict buildings on
your left, take the second turning left at a small crossroads.
After 100 yards, bear right and the entrance toWestcove House is directly in front of you.
Proceed over the cattle grid, with a stone wall on either side, and park by the grass circle.

All Westcove properties are booked at the time of receipt of both the completed Booking Form & the deposit. The balance of the rent is due 6 weeks before arrival.
The number of people occupying the houses may not exceed the number of beds.
It is an express condition of the booking that the Proprietor is not responsible for any loss or damage which may be sustained by tenants or their visitors.
If the property is not claimed by 6pm on the due day of arrival, it will be re–let without future reference to the clients, except where prior notice has been given.
The property must be left tidy. Any damages or breakages must be paid for before departure and we are entitled to fix the amount due.
Dogs are usually welcome but check with Susannah, the owner, first, but not upstairs or on the sofas & chairs please! Also be very careful and keep them under control at all times when walking in the hills when there are sheep around.
Any special arrangements such as cot or high chair must be advised in advance. Tenancy runs from 3.00pm on day of arrival until 10.00am on departure day unless other arrangements are agreed in advance.
You must ensure that you and everyone in your party is travelling with adequate Travel Insurance as we will not accept any liability for medical expenses, repatriation, loss or damage to possessions, public liability or any other costs, losses or damages that would be covered by a Travel Insurance Policy.
In the event of cancellation, the deposit is usually non–refundable. However, if the balance of the full rental has been received, this will be repaid less a 10% admin charge if the property is subsequently re–let.
Telephone cancellations must be confirmed in writing by fax or by email.
