You are welcome to our romantic Palace.
The Monbijou Palace, in its current eclectic style, was built at the end of the 19th century for the Pomeranian Rieck-Eggeberd family, a member of which, Erich, was knighted in 1914.
The Palace is located in a beautiful park melting into a forest. A big attraction is the Łupawa River, which flows nearby and into the Baltic Sea. It is a mountainous river that requires considerable skills of rafters and is rich with fish (graylings).
Nature, in its unspoiled form, is an undoubted asset of Monbijou. Lakes, forests, the nearby Baltic coast, and sandy beaches create excellent conditions for hiking, jogging, or cycling.
Near the palace.
You can visit the surrounding part of a large Baltic route of historic lighthouses in Ustka, Czołpino, and Stilo.
Another unique-in-Europe attraction entered in the UNESCO World List is the Słowiński National Park, famous for its so-called "moving dunes". When visiting the Słowiński National Park, you can see an open-air museum of Slovinian culture in Kluki and a former fishing village developed with typical small fishermen's houses (currently a Baltic resort) in Łeba. Here, Baltic fish find their way straight from fishing boats to local restaurants and fish and chips shops.
An important place to visit is the historic town of Słupsk on the Słupia River, which is another Pomeranian "salmon" river. In the town centre, right next to the Mill, you can watch an amazing show of "flying" salmon and sea trout during a spawning period. In Słupsk, it is also worth visiting Gothic monuments such as the Witches' Tower, the Castle of Pomeranian Dukes, and the Town Hall, as well as the Department Store where you can take the oldest wooden elevator in Europe.
When visiting Słupsk, you should drive about 10 km northwest to the so-called Checkered-House Land in the village of Sławowo and the surrounding area, consisting of extremely interesting half-timbered buildings with black-painted beams and whitewashed walls between the beams, forming a checker pattern. In several surrounding farms, there are interesting private museums, such as the museum of Baltic herring.
Next to Słupsk, in Strzelinek, the so-called Charlotta Valley hosts the annual Rock Legends Festival attended by world stars.
Megaliths, unusual structures that are over 5,000 years old, are a unique-in-Poland attraction located only 3 km from Monbijou.
You are welcome to visit these and other attractions.
