The Sleeping Beauty Castle !
Entirely renovated by the Kasteliades team between February 2022 and June 2023, the Château overlooks the charming village of Burnand. The castle, spanning approximately 900m² and built over periods from the 14th to the 19th century, is set within a 32-acre park, including 22 acres of forest. Perched in a dominant position, it offers superb views of the village, the valley and the hills beyond.
Its atypical architecture will captivate lovers of historical buildings. The ground-floor living rooms and some bedrooms have beautiful painted ceilings, either of Renaissance origin or restored in the 19th century. During the renovation we were careful to preserve the traditional materials from the past, such as old parquet floors, French ceilings, fireplaces, and period doors and windows. The decoration and furniture throughout have been chosen with the utmost care, creating a perfect blend of tradition and modernity.
An amazing property for holidays with family & friends
The fully restored castle features 10 luxurious double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a single bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and a children’s bedroom, accommodating a total of 21 people plus one child. On the ground floor you’ll find the Château’s expansive, fully-equipped kitchen, which offers a wonderful opportunity for those who wish to hone their culinary skills, along with the lounge, dining-room, billiard room and poker room. The ‘wellness’ area on the 2nd floor has a well-equipped gym and cardio-training section as well as a massage room, sauna and steam-room.
The beautiful park affords great privacy. The park immediately in front of the castle features a magnificent and ancient sycamore tree which provides perfect shade for the terraced outdoor dining area. The adjacent 5 x 11m heated swimming pool has beautiful views over the valley. The spacious courtyard provides parking for up to 10 cars.
From the Château entrance, you can join hiking trails through the forests in Burnand and its surroundings. The area is also great for cycling.
The medieval town of Saint-Gengoux-le-National, just 5 minutes away, offers all amenities, including restaurants, a supermarket, bakers, and a butcher. Tournus, the gastronomic capital of southern Burgundy with its Michelin-starred restaurants, is about 20 minutes away.
