Description

The Mill

The Mill is a perfectly restored 13th century water mill, and located on the banks of the Ouysse river, known to the locals as the Emerald river for its sparkling clarity. The Manoir has its own private Source Naturel, where you can swim in the purest water imaginable… Surrounded by cliffs and wild flower meadows, The Mill offers you the chance to revitalise and lift your spirits. Choose to relax in a hammock with a book, swim, kayak or fish on the river, walk the meadows or cliffs and find a hidden corner in which to picnic, paint or just watch nature go by. The Mill is partly of grid by making part of its electricty from the power of the water but offers all the comfort such as high speed WIFI. The nearest restaurant is only 2 km away, a good evening walk revives your spirits…

Inside
The accommodation consists of 7 double bedrooms (4 downstairs) with 4 en-suite bathrooms and 2 extra bathrooms, a large combined kitchen and dining room, and a very spacious living room with a large wood-burning fireplace. The nearest restaurants are 2kms in Cales. It is an ideal house for 2 families or more intimate family gatherings. Children are welcome, however, it is important to note that Latreille is in very close proximity to a river and children should be closely supervised at all times.

Outside
The Mill is completely private, right on the river and located on 8 HA private land.

Both regions offer varied and countless opportunites for exploration. Saint Cirq Lapopie, a town built into the cliffs of the Lot river is also another attraction.

The town of Gourdon also boasts the Grottes de Cougnac's 25,000 year old cave paintings - the oldest that can be visited in France.
Lacave, only 6km from The Mill, where the Dordogne river joins its smallest tributary the river Ouysse, has a huge cave system that is well worth a visit.
